What-What?! Week of January 14th

I am late posting this, because I have spent waaaaay too much time working this past week.  Literally up until 2 or 3 in the morning twice, as well as all day yesterday, and part of today already, because we're moving to our new server architecture, and it's complicated.  I think we're about good, though, which makes me super happy.  I'm on call this week so I'm stuck for this week, but my boss has promised me comp time, so I'll be taking some time off the next week.

This past week, we got a package from my middle sister with Christmas presents! ^_^

Excited to open!

She got the kids these adorable hoods...

A fox and two dinosaurs.  Osric was running through the house with his hood and a cape on, yelling about being DINO BOY.  We just recently saw the episode of The Tick with Dinosaur Neil, so that helps.

She got me some adorable squirrel socks.

And the husband some Tintin comics and some artwork of his character from the My Little Pony roleplaying game we've been playing (I don't seem to have a good picture of this, though...)

What-What?! Week of January 7th

It is next year already... I'm not ready for it, though.

Here's some of the things we're looking at doing this coming year:
  • Visit the zoo at least twice
  • Paint the kitchen (this was on last year's list, too...)
  • Fix some other house-related stuff
  • Visit California
  • Swim classes for the kids
  • Join an additional club?
Other than that, it's been pretty quiet.  We've cleaned up all our Christmas stuff, and the husband is taking the tree to be recycled today.

The kids got some money for Christmas, so they've bought some things for themselves; Oz bought himself some Imaginext toys, including a big yeti toy, a sleigh thing, and a snake monster.  Corwin's gotten himself some books, and a game called The Magic Labyrinth.  Saffron so far hasn't gotten herself anything, though between Christmas and her birthday, she's got plenty of money to spend...

Yesterday, we headed to the grand opening of our new local library.  It's up here in the Smokey Point area, just about a 5-10 minute drive away, compared to 20-30 minutes to the Marysville library.  While it's much, much smaller than the Marysville library, it's still decently sized and very conveniently located.  We've already come home with a good assortment of books. :P
