What-What?! Week of September 20th

Friday, we got out the paints again, and this time we pulled all the paint colors out of the set and tried them out -- the rule was you had to use all the colors.  We looked at examples of abstract paintings and discussed what a abstract art even is, then we tried to make some...

Saffron's work -- a lady with her dress on fire; a nature scene

Corwin -- two snakes; some stuff (I know the red thing is a duck, and I think that's a blue sun, not sure about the rest)

Osric - two rainbow snakes fighting aliens; a waterfall with a crab

These are mine - some trippy space stuff, and a recent sunset

The husband - a freaky sun (there's a definite "You think you can hide from me?!" vibe there...), and a bear regarding the city

What-What?! Week of September 6th

Recently, I thought it would be fun to do some art as a family, so I bought some artist acrylics and other supplies.  Our first project was to create a simple color wheel showing primary and secondary colors:

Everyone also did a small picture along with their color wheel:

  • Saffron painted some hearts
  • Corwin painted Pacman
  • Peter painted a Christmas tree
  • Osric painted a sun and a landscape with trees and flowers
  • I painted some pumpkins

We all had a good time, and I'm working out some other projects for us to do. :)
